The Repower Regions project was presented at the “Building Renovation and Energy Efficiency – Knowledge Exchange Forum” on 10 December 2025 in Krakow after a series of examples showcasing local renovation and energy efficiency practices, which created an ideal setting for sharing our project with an international audience.

Then followed the panel discussion, which focused on increasing the effectiveness of local renovation initiatives across Central and Eastern Europe. It led to identification of key renovation success factors such as informing and engaging local communities to get the public understanding; effective communication and promotion to educate buildings users and citizens and collaborate with well-trained professionals. The lack of internal and external high skilled proffesionals was also underlined, as well as the gap in renovation related competencies in the cities staff and the need of collaborative network of various stakeholders to avoid underperforming renovations.
Additionally, the training session for Polish municipal representatives organised in the afternoon highlighted the importance of well-trained staff and professionals in ensuring successful building renovation projects. The session covered technologies supporting renovation, including: heat pumps, mechanical ventilation and heat recovery systems and intelligent energy management systems. It also addressed common mistakes and practical lessons, such as over-sizing heat pumps, providing participants with concrete guidance to avoid inefficiencies.
