The Masaryk Institute of Advanced Studies at the Czech Technical University in Prague (MIAS CTU) plays a distinctive role in the Repower Regions consortium. As all partners, we will create open educational resources, design new courses, and establish a local alliance. Our main role is evaluating the project's results and progress towards its objectives.
Internal evaluation is not just a matter of compliance; it is a process that ensures Repower Regions remains relevant, consistent, and capable of meeting its ambitious goals. Our task is to monitor how activities are unfolding across countries and to assess whether the expected outcomes are being achieved. It involves gathering feedback from partners and translating findings into recommendations that can strengthen practical cooperation. In this way, CTU acts as a mirror for the project: reflecting achievements and pointing to challenges.
The Czech perspective is particularly valuable here. Although the CTU offers two master's study programs that incorporate or directly address heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), the economy remains at an earlier stage. Although technologies such as heat pumps or deep renovation of buildings are expanding, systemic change is still ahead. These circumstances make the project relevant, and it must consider both different stages in HVAC among countries as well as climate differences between the north and south EU regions.
Zuzana Dvořáková leads our team andrepresents MIAS in the consortium. Her position ensures that the contribution is visible in the dialogue. Michael Pondělíček interviews HVAC professionals and writes case studies to map the local situation. Eva Bobková acts as financial manager to ensure accountability and stability. Alžběta Wostrá coordinates dissemination activities and communicates with Czech universities, companies, and regional stakeholders to ensure that the knowledge generated within the project is effectively applied in practice.
Beyond evaluation, CTU also contributes to other cross-cutting areas. The first is dissemination, where our role is to prepare and share stories from the Czech context, profile pieces, and contributions to project communication channels. The second is to cooperate with the lead project manager, and the third is to support quality assurance to achieve the project plan and fulfill its key indicators.Together, these responsibilities position CTU as a national representative and partner that keeps the project on track and connects to broader objectives.
At the partner meeting in Riga on 26-27 June 2025, Zuzana underlined the importance of evaluation as a steering tool. Discussions focused on collecting data across all partners and transforming it into meaningful conclusions. They mean not only to talk about numbers, but also about narratives, telling the story of how Repower Regions is shaping the skills agenda in Europe.
Looking ahead, the MIAS will refine evaluation methods, deliver impact assessments, and contribute to communication and quality assurance. The participation in Repower Regions is more than a formal partnership: it is an opportunity to combine management expertise with the pressing needs of the HVAC transition, and to deliver intended outcomes.
